Mac OS X

Problems, questions, answers about installing and configuring Ardour on Mac OS X.

Using Korg MDE-X effects plug ins

Tried using the Korg MDE-X plug in - They are listed as a choice in the dialog box, but then the disclaimer for no use pops up. Will these be usable in the future? They work great in GarageBand. Thanks!

ARDOUR and UAD -2

Greetings all,

I've used Ardour in many Linux Distros, Open 64, Agnula etc. Now I've moved to MAC OS and was wondering if Ardour supports UAD Firewire Cards. Is it possible? Thank you so much for the open space. I do appreciate that.

Running on a G3 iMac w/Tiger?

Can it be done with the most current version of Ardour?

MMC Behaviour - can it be changed?

Hi all,

I am new hear and just getting into Ardour/Mixbus2. I am really loving it.

I am building my self a little controller for Mixbus2, all though you can map CC to the transport controls, which is genius! I have also been playing with the MMC commands.

not sure to what benefit either will give right now, any thoughts much welcome.

One thing I have noticed is that if you send FWD or REW MMC commands, the play head will continue in the direction until a STOP is sent..

A3 for OS X PPC

Hello Paul, seablade et al

Is there any chance that you will release a PPC version of A3 ? (It would be really great if you do)

File Import Problem - cannot find required file

i am using ardour 2.8.12 on a mac book pro running osx 10.5.8

every time i import audio files, with either the copy option selected or not, and the 'automaticaly copy imported files' option on or off in the misc prefs.. once i close and restart ardour all of the files are reported as missing.

i have tried deleting ardour, clearing old versions, deleting old .ardour2, checking paths info, moving files to different locations before importing. nothing seems to work.

all the files are stored localy (a subdirectory of the home directory on the internal hard disk.

Ardour Doubling Menu items in Menu bar

I don't know what is causing this but I do not think it is Ardour, but it only occurs with Ardour

I just download the latest release and when the system was installed I noticed that the Menu bar at the top of the page had two sets of items to select.

Record button flashes/cannot seem to pick correct input OS X

I am totally new to this whole process, so I will try to explain the best I can what is going on :-)

I have my mic connected via XLR to my pre-amp. That it turn is connected to my Mac via USB. Just to let you know, I can and have gotten this to work with Audacity, so I know I am just missing something here.

In my sound preferences on my Mac, the "input" is USB Audio CODEC

On JACK Server, the following is set:
Driver - coreaudio
Input Device - USB Audio Codec
Output Device - Built-in Output

On Audio Midi setup:
USB Audio Codec is chosen as the input device. It says 2 in/0 out
