hello,

after some time not working on any audio project, i just switched from ardour 2.2 (maybe 2.1, don't remember) to 2.8, and i can't manage to group regions anymore (i'm quiet sure i did this with ardour previously).

What i'm looking for is, selecting two or more regions with ctrl+leftClick, then 'grouping' them, then selecting anything else for whatever operation, and when i select any of the 'grouped' regions again, having all those previously selected-and-grouped regions selected at once.

I tried various combinations involving ctrl, shift, alt, and G, and search through both old and new docs, but didn't find anyhting.

Do i have a false memory of this feature existing, or did it exist in previous versions and disappear, or still exist?
I'm quiet sure such a handful feature is implemented, but how does it work?
thanks for giving me any idea ^^

Maybe your memory is about using "chunks". I haven't tried this myself for a long time, but my impression is, that this feature is currently kind of broken. Maybe someone who knows how it is supposed to work could clarify.

i recently tried chunks because it seemed to be a good workaround, but seems broken.
The "group regions" feature i remember was the one i used in Samplitude back in the time when i was working with this soft in parallel to Ardour.
ProTools has this feature too, and i must say it's sometimes useful past a certain number of editing points, when you don't want to zoom-out/select/zoom-in/move/select out to move some other little region here/zoom-out again/re-select and so on :p

Maybe if i could insert "negative" time from the Track/insert time menu, that would do the trick.
But well, i can live without it, and some unique features of Ardour are so useful i wont go back to another daw software.
Thanks for the great work and support. :)
