What Pan Law does Ardour use?

I was wondering what ardour is designed to do with panning..

I am assuming from experience it is either 3db or 6db.. but it would be nice to know the actual..

the code currently uses 3dB.

Definitely helps to know, as I've started to use more in track panning rather than using my effects to give a stereo feel..
