JACK across OSX/Linux/Windows

Can JACK sync across multiple OSes?
What I mean is......instead of using Wine to
run VST plugins, how about running JACK on Windows/OSX and feeding the audio/MIDI input or output into a Linux
box running Ardour?
Is this possible? This would basically eliminate the need to compile VST support under Ardour since you could just directly record the audio into Ardour.

Is netjack integrated in jack ?
Can NetJack sync all Clients to one Soundcard

Netjack should be able to help towards this http://netjack.sourceforge.net/ but beyond knowing of its existence I don't know much more about it.
